Get started using Vedivi Remote DesktopAbstractThis guide helps you get started using Windows Remote Desktop online with Vedivi, which allows a user to remotely log-in to a computer and take control of it. It includes the main scenarios used to initiate Remote Desktop sessions. IntroductionWith Remote Desktop, you can have access to a Windows session that is running on your computer when you are at another computer. This means, for example, that you can connect to your work computer from home and have access to all of your programs, files, and network resources as though you were sitting at your computer at work. You can leave programs running at work and when you get home, you can see your work desktop displayed on your home computer, with the same programs running. When you connect to your computer at work, Remote Desktop automatically locks that computer so that no one else can access your programs and files while you are gone. When you come back to work, you can unlock your computer by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL. You can keep your programs running and preserve the state of your Windows session while another user is logged on. When that user logs off, you can reconnect to your session in progress. The fastest way to use Remote Remote Desktop is via your online Vedivi account, described in the first scenario below. Using Vedivi Remote DesktopOnce Vedivi is set up and running on a computer, you can access it immediately from almost any other client computer with Windows or a Java-enabled browser that is connected to the Internet, such as from computers at airport kiosks, Internet cafes, hotels, etc. You can also access any other computer on that LAN. To remotely access your host computer (or another computer on the LAN), you'll need to be at a client computer (any computer other than the host PC you just set up) and you will need to know your Vedivi username and password. Note: If a PC's status is Offline, then you will not be able to access that host Computer. To access a host Computer, you need to leave the PC on and connected to the Internet with Vedivi running. To remotely access a computer on the remote network
Note: Remote LAN computer access requires Vedivi Business. To remotely access your LAN resources using Vedivi VPNVedivi VPN also provides SSL VPN functionality. So that you can access any of the remote network resources (network drives, computers, intranet, printers...) from anywhere. With SSL VPN, any connected user is assigned an IP address on the remote network and has the same connectivity as other compters directly plugged on the network. Note: The VPN features requires Vedivi installed on the client computer as well. To remotely connect to the network using the VPN connection
