Setting Up Vedivi
Before you can access your PC remotely, you first need to create your account (first time users), install the Vedivi software and leave the PC accessible. To do this, you will need to be at the PC and have the username and password you used to register.
Note: To enable all features and functionality, Vedivi needs to be installed with Administrator Rights, therefore, Enterprise and Business users please contact your administrator for assistance; in some instances, your administrator may install Vedivi for you using a remote installation process.
Create Your Vedivi Account (first-time users)
- New Vedivi users can sign up for service at www.vedivi.com.
- Choose a username and password then enter email and feedback information and then click Register.
- Goto your email account and open the email titled Vedivi - Your Registration is Pending Approval.
- Click the link in the email to activate your account (first link in email). A new browser window opens and prompts you to login to your account.
- If you are sitting at the computer you wish to access from anywhere then download and install Vedivi software from www.vedivi.com/download. Please continue with the Step Two - Install the software instructions. If you are not, then go to the PC you wish to install Vedivi on and continue with the Step One - Download the software instructions.
Set Up a Host PC for remote access
Step One - Download the software
- Be sure you are at the PC you will want to access remotely; this will be the host PC.
- Open a browser window and go to www.vedivi.com/download.
- Click on Download Now.
- Click Yes or Grant from the Warning - Security screen to begin downloading the Vedivi software.
Step Two - Install the software
- Click Next to begin installation.
- Follow the installer instructions
- On the last screen, select "Reboot now" and click Finish.
Note: If you are using security or firewall software, you must permanently allow Vedivi to connect to the Internet. See Vedivi and Firewalls for more information.
- Once the computer has restarted, open Vedivi, enter your username and account password (these are the same that you used to log in to the Vedivi Web site) and click Sign In.
Note: If you are a Vedivi user in an environment that requires authentication to access the Internet, you will need to setup Http Proxy information. Please contact your administrator for further details.
- The icon
will appear in the system tray to let you know that the service is running.
